What Does Worship Look Like at Southland?
At Southland, we believe worship plays a vital role in the life of all believers. God's Word tells us to meet together on a regular basis, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph 5:19-20).
We Do This For Three Primary Reasons...
1) To Give Glory to God
We worship for the sole purpose glorifying God alone; our Creator, our Savior, our Sustainer, and our friend.
2) To Edify & Unify the Body of Christ
When we come together with one voice, under the common understanding of who God is and what he has done for us through Christ Jesus, how can we help but become stronger as a body?
3) To Relinquish Our Human Condition
It's human nature to worship. Now this doesn't always mean we worship God, but each of us our wired at birth to worship something. Some choose things, some worship other people, and some choose to worship themselves. Either way, if our worship is not pointed toward God, our hope & trust fall on things destined to fail us.
