The most important thing we do at Southland is to help you develop your relationship with Jesus Christ...to know Him as your personal Savior and Lord. Here is a brief summary of what we believe:
GOD: He is not only the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, but He is the heavenly Father who loves each of us. (John 4:24; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 4:11)
JESUS CHRIST: He is God incarnate. The way the truth and the Life. God came to earth as a Man in order to become the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of every man, woman, and child. (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; 5:1-11)
HOLY SPIRIT: He is God and He works in Christians to produce the fruit of godly character and to come along side believers as a helper and guide. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-15; Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:9)
SALVATION: Because of sin, we are completely separated from God. Our Salvation comes by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, and Him alone. Anyone who places their trust in Jesus and accepts his teachings shall have everlasting, true life, reconciled to God. (John 3:16, Rom 3:23; 6:23)
THE BIBLE: We adhere to and recognize the authority of the Bible in both the Old Testament and New Testament writings. The Bible is the only supernaturally inspired revelation and inerrant Word of God in its original manuscripts. We believe that the Bible has been preserved by God, so that it is a divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life. (1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16)
COMMUNION: Communion is celebrated weekly at Southland, and it is open to all Christians, regardless of church affiliation.
